600 demonstrators demanding a new trial for Mumia Abu-Jamal blocked the Federal court house in San Francisco. Hundreds of others demonstrated in Washington, D.C., England, France, Japan and other countries.

The headline of the San Francisco Examiner exclaimed 'MASS ARREST.' Every major television news program including CNN and BBC covered the dramatic event. At an extremely spirited rally in San Francisco demanding Justice for Mumia, of about 1,000 folks, a mass arrest of about 170 people took place. Folks from Evergreen College and Seattle, all the way down the western seaboard to San Diego took part.
