August 29 Marches and demonstrations
- San Juan. March "Freedom for our own" convoked by the Human Rights Committee of Puerto Rico. See news report.
- Chicago. 800 - 1000 march to Metropolitan Correctional Center. See news report.
- San Francisco. March to demand unconditional release for the 15 Puerto Rican political prisoners - US out of Vieques! The spirited march of some 200 people went through the Mission District and then joined the Chicano Moratorium in Dolores Park.
- Orlando, Philadelphia, Boston, New York City, and Albany also held demonstrations.
