The Time is Now! Goals of the Jericho Amnesty Movement
- To revitalize political resistance by raising the question of the existence of political prisoners and prisoners of war in U.S. prisons and jails
- To understand that political prisoners and prisoners of war don't come out of a vacuum, but are the result of political struggle.
- To understand that our political struggle/liberation movement is, in part, evidenced by the existence of political prisoners and prisoners of war.
- To understand the interconnectedness between the existence of political prisoners and prisoners of war, the criminalization of our movement, the social problems we face, the criminalization of our youth and the poor.
- To understand how the system is designed with its laws, courts, police, FBI/CIA to build a prison industrial complex
- To understand the relationship between these agencies and the proliferation of drugs in our communities and how drugs are used to destroy potential resistance.
- To organize mass actions at government buildings, courthouses and prisons demanding the release, amnesty and reparations for all political prisoners and prisoners of war.
- To build a national and international coalition that will sustain a demand of amnesty to free all political prisoners and prisoners of war and those living in exile.
