The plp is an all-volunteer project that sends free books to prisoners all over the u.s. We get hundreds of letters from prisoners each month and although we try to fulfill these requests as quickly and closely as possible, we are always in need of donations and volunteer help. A project of Bound Together Bookstore and bay area prison activists, PLP is not affiliated with any religious organizations, political parties, or government agencies. There are a bunch of places on both sides of the bay where you can donate books and/or money. Call (510) 893-4648 for the one closest to you.
Come help us send free books to prisoners! We answer request letters every Tuesday at 8 pm, in San Francisco at the Epicenter, 475 Valencia near 16th (close to 16th St. Bart). We also meet Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 8 pm in Berkeley at the Grassroots House, 2022 Blake near Shattuck (close to Berkeley/Ashby Bart).
If you have books or money to donate, call us at (510) 893-4648.
