Free Mumia Abu-Jamal!

Statement from POW's and Political Prisoners at FCI Dublin, California
July 1995

Our brother Mumia Abu-Jamal lives on Pennsylvania's death row; his spirit lives in everyone who hungers for justice and freedom. His gentle eloquence in speaking the harshest truths has touched all of us, and thousands more. It is this truth-telling and struggle for justice that has led the government to fear him, to censor and determine to murder him as an enemy of the state.

The world is a better place because Mumia lives here with us and shares so much of himself. Some part of each of us will die if he is executed and it is crucially important that we all work together to stop his execution. This means making Mumia's life a priority in our own lives -- setting aside other work, using our best creativity, our energies and our time, our commitment and militancy -- to save his life.

Mumia himself has been the strongest advocate that the campaign to save his life must strive to stop the death penalty altogether. Being effective is difficult as the direction of our society becomes more and more racist, fascistic, anti-human and anti-life. But in a time of little hope, each step forward has great significance. Each person willing to struggle encourages all the rest of us. Each act of resistance nurtures human progress. The fight to save Mumia's life can be the moment each of us decides that we will not allow the state to murder one more revolutionary -- nor one more human being. Let our lives and the world be changed forever by Mumia Abu-Jamal.

Stop the execution
Stop the Death Penalty!
We join other political prisoners around the world in demanding that MUMIA MUST LIVE!
