REJECT PROPSED YOUTH CURFEW IN OAKLAND

Date of Alert:
Monday, October 3, 2011

Everyone -- All of Us or None is supporting two very important mobilizations next week.
PLEASE try to join us for these community actions:

Tuesday, October 4, 5 pm -- Oakland City Hall, 14th & Broadway: RESIST the proposed city-wide curfew on youth, and STOP the gang injunctions.  Council members Ignacio de la Fuente and Larry Reid, supported by Libby Schaaf, are pushing hard to institute a youth curfew in Oakland. They are trying to circumvent the Council's vote for an independent evaluation of  the North Oakland injunction, and a moratorium on any new injunctions until the evaluation is complete.   ALL OUT to the City Council meeting -- MEET at 5 pm, Tuesday October 4, Oakland City Hall.

Wednesday, October 5, 9:30 am --  West Oakland BART, Rides leave for Sacramento -- NOON RALLY and PROTEST at CDCR to support the hungerstrikers. Rally from noon to 2 pm outside CDCR headquarters, 1515 "S" Street, Sacramento. Thousands of prisoners in CA prisons resumed their hungerstrike on September 26, to end long-term solitary confinement, modify gang validation practices, and improve living conditions in California's secure housing units.  PLEASE JOIN US -- Family members will be reporting on recent visits with the hungerstrikers.

If any of you are available to help make outreach phone calls, please contact  Linda at 510-219-0297.
See you next Tuesday night, and Wednesday in Sacramento!
