Face of Stone Poem

"Face of Stone"

I want to reach out to you,

but will I find you there?

I need someone to comfort me,

and let me know they care.

So many times I've looked around

to find myself alone.

So I've learned to keep it all inside

and wear a face of stone.

But if you look behind my walls,

I'm sure that you will find

A man with a heart of gold,

that's loving, sweet, and kind.

I'm still afraid to reach out, 

for fear I'd find myself still alone.

So for now I'll keep it all inside,

and wear a face of stone.
