New Orleans, Louisiana (CNN) -- A former New Orleans police
lieutenant pleaded guilty Wednesday to obstruction of justice in
connection with the police shootings of civilians in the days after
Hurricane Katrina.
Two civilians were killed and four others were injured in the
shootings on the Danziger Bridge.
Mumia Abu-Jamal is an innocent political prisoner, framed for a crime he didn't commit, and now in his 28th year of incarceration on death row. Recent Supreme Court rulings have upheld his fraudulent conviction in a grotesquely unfair trial, and sent him closer to execution.
